I love it when skirt weather hits northern Indiana. It makes me want to buy every pretty skirt I see.
All of them…
top: la femme skirt
middle: tribal (handmade!), peacock

Spring may have sprung and all but I’m feeling a little low energy this week. Despite the gorgeous sunshine here. That hasn’t stopped me from tackling my many to-dos – I’m just not pouncing on them with my usual vigor. Sometimes you just need to slow down a little, amiright?
In that vein…
Have a great night. I’m taking this inspiration to heart and heading to bed with a good book.

Happy Monday, guys! How was your weekend? Mine was great. I went down to see my brother, who’s in college, and helped him move. Despite the fact that it was about 1,000 degrees and my sister got sick while we were there, we had some fun. I swear.
(p.s. My brother will be doing a segment on this blog about music and design – coming soon…)
Anyway, last week Char pointed out that designer Tracy Porter is now in Santa Barbara – thanks, Char! And I thought I’d share some of the beautiful things in her online store. I just requested a catalog myself. If you haven’t been to her site or her blog, check it out. This woman is all about color and a sort of nouveau gypsy look — and so am I. If you enjoy whimsy, you’ll enjoy Tracy.

There are so many crossovers from the fashion world to the world of interior design. Fringe is one of my favorites. And it’s really hot right now, in both arenas–has been for a couple of years.
I like tracking a trend like this a couple of years after it resurfaces. The longer something is popular, the more variety we have to chose from.
This being a space for gypsy minds to collaborate, I thought a celebration of fringe love would be appropriate given its bohemian qualities (think velvet curtains with multi-colored fringe, tall hippie boots, and woven shawls of the fortune teller variety).
Click pics for sources and stay tuned for two great round-ups at the end.
Enjoy! Thanks for stopping by, guys!

One of the keys to any boho/gypsy look
is the mixture of patterns.
Can’t go wrong with big flowers.
Patchwork is another shoe in.
Lush neutral linens with a pop of green.
Remember, more is more when
you’re going for the cozy gypsy look.
This is a total fantasy. I love it.
And something for the little ones.

Hello and Happy Friday! I’m kicking off the weekend with a batch of eye candy, the kind that hangs from the ceiling in lots of delicious colors. And then, since I’ve got the sniffles, I’m going to get lots of rest and hopefully recover in time for a St. Patty’s Day party tomorrow.
Have a great weekend!

Hey! Just thought I’d brighten your day (and maybe your design?) with these sweet garlands. I’ve been infatuated wtih garlands lately. I sewed a little black and white heart garland to hang in my bedroom and then sewed a bunch more to give out for Valentine’s Day. I love to see how people use these little bits of fun and where they hang them. These pics feature a variety of shapes, sizes, colors, and styles. Enjoy! Thanks for stopping by.
